Discovering Gel Printing
The Art Club met once again on September 27th to experiment with a new technique called Gel Printing, which Jane Pilla has recently been exploring. The session included Ximena Rauld, Janice Kruze, Patricia Fendt, and Ana Britto, and the results were absolutely wonderful.
One of the key lessons we learned is that when working with this technique, one of the most important factors is the amount of acrylic used—it shouldn’t be too much, which is one of the common mistakes we make as beginners.
Another important aspect is timing. For example, we had to experiment with the right amount of time for a fashion magazine page to successfully transfer onto the plate! And it looked wonderful, thanks to Patricia Fendt .
The session extended until about 1 PM, and we are thrilled with the outcomes.
We are eager to continue exploring this technique; however, we’ll have to work off-schedule since we don’t have any more available slots for the semester. We hope you enjoy seeing our work and that you can join us for future workshops.
