Transitioning Seasons

Embracing New Artistry at our Open Studios sessions.

Last month, we hosted two sessions of Open Studios in Washington, DC at IDB heaquarters.

Our intention was to ensure that newcomers and residents of DC and Virginia had access to the club due to the proximity to the metro.

Have a look on some of our activities and artworks.

Gabriely Simette had a playful dance with watercolor and xylography on watercolor paper

Jane Pilla continued her favorite doll’s printing session, this time solely in pure xylography.

Ana Brito embarked on her journey adding embroidery details for a flush of flair.

Camila Rios was busy carving in linoleum a beautiful “guacamayo” for our next exhibition.

Lourdes Telleria challenged herself combining the two techniques on canvas.

Ana revisited her work this time on a sturdy canvas, still under the enchantment of watercolor.

Janice Kruse dipped her brush into the playful world of watercolor, crafting a vibrant sea scene with a red boat. Now we are trying to convince her to print her woodcut fish to this vibrant ocean.

Eugenia Espinosa masterfully composed colors in her watercolor artwork creating a mesmerizing spectacle.

Mariana Rios showcased her embroedery magic, adorning her own shoes. She is working on a xylography she printed from Jane.

Meanwhile, Camila Lazo continued her collage adventures, weaving stories through the art of assembling fragments and also made a very whimsical bird for the exhibit.

Thank you girls!
